Background

A large multinational OEM was looking for a gear source to produce their prototype gears on a short lead-time basis. In addition, they wanted to get engineering feedback on potential manufacturing issues associated with their designs in an effort to utilize common forgings and tooling and reduce costs.

UGA established solid working relationships with forging companies that could react quickly and provide material without extensive die fabrication. In addition, UGA maintains detailed tooling lists which allow for easy cross-referencing for sizing and availability.
