Tom Bukkila Named UGA Director, Sales and Marketing
Tom Bukkila recently joined United Gear & Assembly, Inc. (UGA, Hudson, WI) as Director, Sales and Marketing. UGA President Mike Menz noted “Tom brings with him large corporate know-how, 25 years of diverse manufacturing experience, excellent communications skills, and ability to plan, lead, and execute strategies for growth.” Bukkila has held top positions with Sandvik Hard Materials, Westin Automotive, and Donaldson Company.
“I’m excited to be part of the UGA team,” noted Bukkila. “The parent company, United Stars has an excellent forward looking vision and provides the required resources to support growth. In brief, there is exceptional opportunity for all UGA associates as the company strengthens its position in the global market.”
Bukkila places the highest value on asking questions, listening, and fully understanding customer needs and expectations. “It’s not all about selling the product; more importantly it’s about helping customers identify and solve problems, reduce costs, and increase profitability.” This focus points us on the direction of a good solution and adds true value to the process.
Recognized for its high quality gears, shafts, and assemblies, UGA provides customized solutions for customers in the areas of aerospace, alternative energy, industrial, agricultural, and marine markets, among others. UGA is a supplier to global OEM producers of power transmissions, diesel engines, and hydraulic power applications with customers that include: Caterpillar, John Deere, Allison Transmissions, and Eaton.
In February 2007, UGA distinguished itself with ISO/TS 16949 certification. In November 2007, UGA passed the Surveillance Audit and expects formal certification renewal in December 2007. Bukkila states, “Passing the Surveillance Audit further emphasizes UGA’s commitment to continually improve all processes, products, and services to deliver solutions of the highest value to our customers.”
